Fira is a graduate student in Sociology at New Mexico State University (NMSU) with over eight years of experience teaching Diné youth on the reservation. She is dedicated to promoting Diné culture and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies. Her research focuses on mixed-race Indigenous peoples and storytelling.

Yá’át’ééh!Haffbreedz Podcast is dedicated to making significant progress in embracing diversity and inclusivity while exploring the dichotomy of our Indigenous and non-Indigenous identities. There is still much work to be done when it comes to understanding and celebrating mixed race individuals, and we are committed to learning more about ourselves and others like us. We aim to help educate and inform listeners about the unique challenges faced by people who may share similar identities and those who identify as Indigenous and the other. Haffbreedz Podcast is used as a platform to share unique stories and perspectives that can help break down stereotypes and promote a greater understanding of those diversities. We serve as an important tool for advocacy and social change for Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ by highlighting issues that include colonialism, racism, discrimination, prejudices, inequality, oppression, and lateral oppression within those communities. Let’s come together to celebrate our differences and embrace the beauty of our diverse world through our Diné and other cultures and traditions.Hózhó Náhásdlíí!Ahé’hee’!
